Radio

I have experience of producing, writing and editing for radio. I have worked as a radio journalist for many years covering stories from across the Yorkshire and Humber region. I have an excellent broadcast voice and at present you can hear me on Radio Humberside’s jingle package. I have also narrated a number community based adverts and public campaigns. I am also a capable radio presenter and fronted BBC Radio Humberside’s Breakfast Show for two years enjoying a marked increase in listening figures

Television

I am a proficient producer, reporter, editor and presenter of TV news and features. Assignments to note are reporting from a mine field on the Green Line in Cyprus, exposing over pricing in military bases, into a women’s refuge for the first time in the North East, onto three helicopters in one week, into the sewers of Hull and on tour with a pop band. I also have experience of planning and producing which has required a high standard of editorial judgement and an ability to lead staff and give feedback.

I was one of the first BBC TV reporters to be trained in Video Journalism. I now benefit from camera and digitial editing skills. I have extensive experience of working in a busy newsroom and a thorough understanding of what makes a story attractive. My work has not gone unnoticed and at present a number of my reports are used to demostrate best practise at the BBC training centre, SONAR, in Bristol.

I am also a highly experienced presenter having fronted BBC’s regional news programmes at both 6.30pm and 10:25pm.
