Fashion Enterprise uses social media to generate business

I’m always happy to lend my help and support to those that are willing to go the extra mile and if it involves fashion then I’m more than happy! My friend Jan Clennett is one of the most enterprising ladies I have ever met. She has such energy and zest for life and her latest venture, opening a dress boutique in Beverley, was bound to be a success from the start. So when Jan asked me to host her Fashion Show and wear one of her gorgeous dresses I jumped at the chance and as per usual Jan had the whole event planned to a tee with local models, a run way donated by a school in Leven (East Yorkshire) a raffle full of prizes and stalls bearing bags, jewelry, hats, fascinators and beauty products.

I fear my description may fail to give a true impression of one womans passion for enterprise and how though collaboration with other local suppliers in the fashion and beauty market she managed to pull off a spectacular night. We even managed to raise money for “Help for Heroes” and enjoy a fish supper. All Jans hard effort really paid off as a room full of happy ladies and some gents went home inspired by the dresses they saw float down the run way. Imagining themselves in of the many colourful creations at the races, an evening ball or wedding.

For me the night wasn’t only about dresses but a reminder of how truely enterprising people make things happen and are constantly planning their next move. I suggested Jan ought to use twitter more to remind people when a new collection arrived in the shop…and right on cue this afternoon @f4airygodmothers is now following and being followed.

I hope to give more enterprising people a slot on my blog in the very near future!
