Academic Ascension!

Posted on 05. Mar, 2010 by helen in Uncategorized

Over the last two days I have been deep in research methodology and cake! The Lake District has been the backdrop to this experience so far and has proved a beautiful respite from the hard slog of academic underpinning (popular phrase used by clever bods of which there are a few here). My MBA residential has proved something of a surprise and so far I have learned more about group dynamics than perhaps I’d anticipated. I have also consumed far too much sponge, a by product of tea breaks!

Windermere is truly fabulous and our brief walks around this natural beauty spot have proved relaxing if a little chilly. We have, though, you’ll be pleased to hear, studied hard and despite my initial cynicism it has forced us to question our research topics hard!

It’s true that by removing oneself from the distractions of daily life clarity can be found amongst the snow tipped mountains and the crystal clear lake….lets hope my dissertation is all the better for this short sojourn into the countryside (back to Hull on Sunday!)
